To celebrate the new castle entrance to the Children’s Library and Play Center, the Community Free Library, 86 Public Square, Holley, is hosting a family Children’s Expo on Saturday, March 12, from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00. Bring your family and participate in the ribbon- cutting. Afterwards there will be refreshments, face-painting, balloons, a chance to make your own crown, and, best of all, an opportunity to play in the new play centers and to check out books. Play centers include a puppet theater, kitchen, veterinary clinic, craftsman center, costume corner for dress-up, and more. Fred Rogers, of TV’s Mr. Rogers Neighborhood once said “Play is the work of children,” and current research stresses the fact that when children have the opportunity to play, it increases the ability to learn. The play centers and castle entrance were funded by a grant from Senator Maziarz.
